My name is Azren and I’m the owner of the Calgary Language Nerds. I have over 15 000 hours experience teaching and learning foreign languages. I speak 5 languages myself: English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, and Gujarati. I’ve taught people of all ages, both online and in-person. Learning and teaching languages are two of my favourite things to do 
I started the Calgary Language Nerds in 2016. Since then, my team of instructors and I have worked with thousands of people and helped them towards their proficiency goals. We are true “Language Nerds” who love learning and teaching foreign languages.

Time required: 3 hours
There will be listening assignments, worksheets, and some additional videos to watch. You can do this homework on your own time. It will take about 3 hours to do all the homework each week.

Will I really be able to hold a 15-20 minute conversation in French within 6 months?
Yes, as long as you spend 4 hours a week on learning Spanish by attending 1 live class a week and completing the 3 hours of assigned homework.
If you put in the time and are unable to hold a 15-20 minute conversation after 6 months, I will work with you for free until you can.
What kind of assignments are provided?
Primarily worksheets, grammar exercises, and listening exercises. I’m also happy to provide additional self-study resources for those who want to do extra homework.
How many people will be in the class?
No more than 25, but most of the live lessons will have fewer people than that in them since there are 3 possible time slots to choose from every week.
Is it normal to feel nervous? I’ve never done something like this before.
Absolutely! It is normal to feel nervous, particularly if you have never taken lessons or learned a language before. Rest assured that I’m personable and you will quickly feel at ease. I’m here to support you every step of the way 🙂
Am I too old to learn?
There is no age limit when it comes to learning a new language. Contrary to what many believe, adults actually tend to learn a foreign language faster than children.
